Nagasumi's mother (永澄の母, Nagasumi no Haha) (Michishio, first name and maiden name not known) is the mother of Nagasumi and wife of Nagasumi's Father

Personality

Nagasumi’s mother could be said to lack self-respect and lacking a firm moral base. Current events in her life have caused her interest towards her husband to gradually die out. Despite this she, rather hypocritically, got jealous when her husband was caught daydreaming about being young after talking to Sun Seto.

Like her husband, she hits her son when she is annoyed by him or thinks he did something wrong and is verbally abusive as well. She does not put much effort in being a mother, never doing anything to help him, while blaming her son for not being good enough. She also used him as a shield to protect herself in episode 1.

She also seems to be somewhat narcissistic, looking down on both her husband and son. She also took pride when a neighbor complimented her, thinking she was cooking a delicious smelling fish dinner (when it was really just mermaids in a sauna).

Despite this, there are brief moments when she shows some concern for Nagasumi (unlike her husband). Such as the first episode where she reacted in shock seeing Suns father about to kill him. She also cried when it looked like Nagasuni was going to be killed by Lunars dad. In the manga, she also expressed some concern seeing Nagasumi frozen and asked if he was alive. However, even in these cases she made no real effort to protect her son or even argue on his behalf. In the latter example, she carelessly left Nagasumi’s frozen body to be watched over by Sun while she called an ambulance for her husband (who she was also concerned about) saying she will check in on him later. In another episode, she pays no attention to Nagasumi being blasted to the moon after becoming a giant and spends that time looking at Masa.

She also greatly enjoys having Sun and Lunar living with them, treating them like family as well as the "daughters" she never had. She admits she considers boys useless and thus favors them more than her husband and son.

Her personality can be a bit irritating, and she's not the best wife out there, her over caring attitude towards Masa often gives her husband headache, but she doesn't seem to care about this.

Appearance

Nagasumi's Mother is an average height woman and is quite skinny. She has light brown and Gray eyes she is mostly seen wearing a purple shirt with a yellow apron on her upper body while wearing a red skirt and purple shoes for her Lower. Although throughout the series she has been seen wearing different outfits bit this being her most commonly seen.
